Newcastle, PA: [c.1930.] A Shenango China United States Navy fruit bowl from the USS Arizona, the rim stamped USN. Diameter 175 mm. (7 inches.) The base stamped with the Shenango name and device, and stenciled in black under the glaze, "USS Arizona." Some light marks and wear through use. All items associated with the USS Arizona are rare. At auction I can only locate a pair of fruit bowls of this design, sold in these rooms, February 2013.
