Contemporary speckled calf gilt (few small repairs, minor wear). Provenance : Christopher O'Brien (signature on titles dated 1741); Marine Guard (ink stamp on titles). FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH of the Principia . This edition also includes an English translation of Newton's System of the World (see lot 698), presumably by Motte.
