A souvenir copy of the Presidential Oath of Office, dated 20 January 1969 and 20 January 1973. 1 page, 8vo . I, RICHARD MILHOUS NIXON, DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR... A souvenir copy of the Oath of Office which Nixon recited twice on the steps of the U. S. Capitol, first in 1969 and then again in 1973: "I, Richard Milhous Nixon, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God." Nixon's wife Pat, his bride of 53 years, signed the document underneath her husband's name.
