OMAS undertook perhaps its most ambitious project in pen design in 1996, when it invited 24 of the most celebrated names in the worlds of art, music, cinema, literature, sports, science and fashion to participate in the creation of this extraordinary pen collection. Design motifs were submitted by such luminaries as Claudio Abbado, Michelangelo Antonioni Julio Iglesias Gina Lollobrigida, Egon Von Furstenburg, Christian Barnard and others, and these drawings were transformed into striking pens, each named in honor of the personality who inspired it. The pens were released in support of UNICEF, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. This set of 24 sterling silver pens is limited to 300 examples. Medium 18 K gold nib bearing the UNICEF insignia. Original packaging and papers. The sterling overlay on 6 pens is loose and needs glue; some tarnish to silver. Limited Edition: 246/300.
