Catalogue Essay The present Omega from 2004 is a limited edition of 2004 unnumbered watches made for the Japanese market. The original racing dials, from the late 1960s and the Mark II racing dials of the early 1970’s, had unusual orange and red coloring that have become a collector’s favorite. It is believed the colors made reading the chronograph easier, and it is thought these early dials were prototypes and the watches sold through Japanese retailers. The new edition with the caliber 1861 is an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts to get a modern watch with a historical perspective.
