Title: Original photograph of Zane Grey with large broadbill caught in Catalina Island Author: Grey, Zane Place: Catalina Island Publisher: Date: [c.1925] Description: 17¾x13" card matting with photograph image measuring 12x8". Boldly signed in purple ink by Zane Grey just below photo image (slightly touching edge). Zane Grey poses with his large catch hoisted tail first by a block and tackle rigging on the Catalina Island dock, with his bent rod and safari hat in hand. This photo is the mirror image of the one used for the frontispiece and front dust jacket cover of Tales of Swordfish and Tuna (1927). Provenance: According to the consignor, it was purchased from an individual who acquired it from a University of Reno, Nevada archives sale. Lot Amendments Condition: Fine. Item number: 192492
