Engraved additional title with large vignette, 15 mixed-method plates, 1 double-page, 10 hand-coloured, some using varnish to make the paper semi-transparent, one plate with six pieces of coloured paper tipped-on with the end of each dipped in varnish, 4 uncoloured vignette illustrations, extra-illustrated with an original hand-coloured engraved prospectus. (Without subscribers' list, paper samples somewhat creased, repaired tears from inner margins of final text leaf and final plate, B4 with 4 inch repaired tear to outer blank margin, H4 with small repaired tears to outer margin, some other old creasing.) 20th-century blue half morocco, spine gilt in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second, the others with repeat decoration in gilt, top edge gilt, the others uncut. AN ATTRACTIVE COPY OF THIS EXTRORDINARY WORK, WITH THE RARE PROSPECTUS, but without the subscriber's list which was probably issued subsequently. Abbey Life 230.
