Painter and puppeteer Ota Bubeníček first worked in Haas’s typographic works as a lithographer; in 1899-1904 he studied in the Prague Academy of Fine Arts at J. Mařák, A. Slavíček and Ottenfeld. He devoted himself to landscapes; worked in Valašsko, Vsetín, Horní Bečva, Svratka, South Bohemia (in Protivín, Volyně, Zvíkov, Orlík, around Sedlčany), between the World Wars he travelled to Slovakia and in 1932 he settled in Mladá Vožice. His work is close to decorative stylization from the turn of the century and sometimes is referred to the German landscapists from Worpswede.
