Height overall of taller 23 1/8 inches; height of shades 5 3/4 and 5 5/8 inches; height of each base 17 3/4 inches. Provenance: Christie's, New York, Magnificent Tiffany Featuring the Gluck Collection, December 8, 2009, Christie's, New York, Property From an Important European Collection, June 8, 1991, C
Shades: Each shade appears to be in generally good condition; no apparent hairline cracks, however, one shade has some shallow chips to its fitter rim edge, and the same shade also has a little bit of grinding to its rim edge, possibly as made by the factory; each shade has burst surface air bubbles on the interior side, some of which appear to have been professionally infilled Bases: Each appears to be in generally good condition; each base stands nice and straight; each has extensive wear, rubbing, and soiling to the patina, consistent with age and usage; the underside reveals that this may be an assembled pair, i.e., there are some inconsistencies to the patina, stamp marks, screws that affix the base plate to the rest of the standard; each contains three ball screws, some of which appear to be later replacements; the "drip pans" on each are slightly out of round; the glass jewels appear to be in generally good condition, however, the top drip cups were not removed to allow the interior area to be illuminated or examined; there is a small area on one base with loss to patina, approximately an eighth of an inch square, now exposing the shiny metal
