(Horizontal creasefolds, some minor marginal creasing.) SCARCE EPHEMERA CALLING FOR JEWS AND ARABS TO SHOW UNITY AND OVERTHROW BRITISH IMPERIAL RULE. Perhaps the most interesting is the leaflet published by Abba Hushi while secretary of the Haifa Workers Council. Hushi, who later served as Haifa's mayor from 1951-1969, was extremely active in the Palestine labour movement, and was one of the founding members of the Histadrut. In his publication here, Hushi is reacting to the violent events of the 1929 riots and calling for unity within the labour force. The last-named item is an extremely rare piece of propaganda aimed at causing desertion within British military units stationed in Palestine.
