Based on the classic reference 130 chronograph which was inspired by the popular Calatrava model, the 530 varied from its predecessor because of its oversized 36.5mm case; an impressive 4mm larger. Launched in 1938 with a 13 lignes movement, it was available until the mid 1950s in yellow gold, rose gold and rarely stainless steel with either 19mm or 20mm lug width. The current lot offers collectors the opportunity to own one of the finest examples of a yellow gold 530 to be offered at auction. The dial of the 530 is in exceptional condition and the watch is accompanied by its Extract from the Archives by Patek Philippe.
