PENNANT, Thomas (1726-1798). A Journey from London to the Isle of Wight, London: Printed at the Oriental Press, 1801. 2 volumes in one. 4° (290 x 220mm). Half-titles, 11 maps and plans, 7 folding, a few hand-coloured, 108 engraved plates, 2 folding, including EXTRA-ILLUSTRATIONS, and an original watercolour drawing of Beachy Head, Sussex. (Occasional spotting and staining). Contemporary calf gilt (rubbed, upper joints splitting). F. CALVERT, (illustrator). The Isle of Wight Illustrated, in a Series of Coloured Views, London: G. H. Davidson, 1846. 4° (270 x 210mm). Half title, tinted lithographic frontispiece, hand-coloured engraved map and 20 hand-coloured aquatint plates by Percy Roberts after F. Calvert (occasional very light staining). Later green morocco gilt, gilt edges; together with 2 other works on the Isle of Wight including George Brannon's The Pleasure-Visitor's Companion in surveying the Isle of Wight ... fifth edition (Wootton Common, 1837).
