Beschreibung:

Pesach LaShem, Kabbalistic commentary on the Passover Haggadah, "composed by… the great Kabbalist R. Chaim Ibn Gabai, son of the renowned R. Meir Ibn Gabai". Cosntantinople: Yosef Chacham Halevi, [1559]. The printing was evidently not completed. Offered here is an uncut sheet (four leaves). Two leaves are torn and incomplete. Most extant copies include only the first gathering of four unnumbered leaves (listed by Yaari in the listing of Constantinople printings). The copy of the NLI also includes the second gathering containing pages 5-8, which end with "Ha Lachma Anya". 4 leaves, 18.5 cm. Fair condition. Evidently removed from a bindings geniza. Dark stains and wear. Worming and tears. Large tears with damage to text on two pages. The title page has tears with damage to the border. Extremely rare. All known copies have extensive marginal damage. Otzar HaHagadot 21.
