PETE ROSE RECORD BREAKING GAME BALL An official National League baseball used in the game in which Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb's record for career hits. The ball is signed by Pete Rose and also inscribed as follows by Lee Weyer, the home plate umpire in the game: This ball was used in game September 11, 1985 when Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb's record of 4192 hits! To Doc my friend, Lee Weyer Home Plate Umpire (#23) Weyer also wrote on the side panel the names of the four umpires in the game. The ball shows game use but is in otherwise excellent condition.
