Nicolo Peranzone ... sopra i Triu[m]phi . Venice: Albertinus Vercellensis, 26 September 1503. 2 parts in one volume, 2° (295 x 209mm). Large woodcut of Petrarch in a landscape, holding a book, with the city of Florence in the background, 6 full-page woodcuts illustrating the Trionfi . (Repairs in the fore-margin of the first 11 leaves, a few other minor defects in the fore-margins, occasional light spotting and staining.) Early 19th-century calf gilt (rubbed, upper cover detached and spine loose), uncut. Provenance : Ecole Ste. Geneviève (library stamp on title). The attractive portrait of Petrarch on the title is very much in the Florentine style. The six Trionfi woodcuts are copied from those in the 1493 Capcasa edition which, in turn, are based on those of the famous 1490 edition. Sander 5609; Essling 83.
