The consignor has independently obtained a letter of authenticity from PSA that will accompany the lot. An apparently unrecorded promotional broadside for colored photographs by Illinois photographer Isaac A. Wetherby. Wetherby was also an accomplished portrait painter and evidently combined his two skills to produce "Photographs in Oil Colors, on Canvass, and in Crayon Colors." Originally from Boston, Wetherby offers "Boston and New York Styles of Daguerreotypes taken, and put up in any style of Case. All work done in the best manner and warranted correct."
