PIRANESI, Giovanni Battista (1720-1778) Antichità d'Albano e di Castel Gandolfo (Wilton-Ely 638-669) Descrizione e Disegno dell'Emmisario del Lago Albano (W.-E. 613-624) Di due spelonche ornate dagli antichi all Riva del Lago Albano (W.-E. 625-637) the three complete books in one volume comprising 58 etchings including title pages, dedication, initial, vignettes, 1762-1769, bound out of sequence, with Italian texts, with the two justifications dated Rome 1762, very good impressions, issued in Rome after 1769, with the final, added plate of the Antichità (W.-E. 670, without plate number, the number added in pen and brown ink), watermarks Fleur-de-Lys in Double Circle (R. 36, dated 1760-80; R. 37, dated 1760-early 1770s; and R. 43 & 57, dated mid 1770s-90s), the endpapers with watermark Fleur-de-Lys in Single Circe with Initial B (R. 18, dated 1170s-early 1780s), with margins, some occassional scattered foxing, on folded plate (W.-E. 633) with a paper split, otherwise in good condition, with gilt sheet edges, bound in a late 18th-century Roman binding, richly gold-tooled calf to a neoclassical design for Prince Carlo Giuseppe Maria Ruffo di Calabria by a workshop that specialized in presentation copies of large books Overall: 22¾ x 17 in.
