[Rome], 1778. 2 volumes, oblong 2° (500 x 710mm.), double-page engraved title and 112 engraved plates after Giovanni Battista Piranesi only, 3 folding, and including 3 additional plates by other artists (title repaired at foot of centrefold with some loss, a few chips, laid down on old paper, plate 5 loose, plate 21 shaved at top margin, plate 82 with tear at bottom right corner, ca. half the plates with varying degrees of old repairs mostly to versos, some marginal fraying, spotting and browning, occasional thumb-marking and waterstaining), contemporary half calf, red morocco lettering piece gilt on upper covers (rather worn).
