Sefer Pnei Yehoshua, section four. Fürth, (1780). First edition of author’s manuscripts. Includes (bibliographically unknown) leaf of approbations, some of which were also printed in first three sections, as well as unknown approbation by Rabbi Yechezkel Landau author of “Noda B’Yehudah” dated 7th of Tishrei 1777, who mentions the publisher, son of the author, the Ga’on Rabbi Leibush Av Beit Din of Hanover: “… while I was in Poland I happened to meet Rabbi Leibush, and we had an in-depth discussion and I observed the scope and intensity of his wisdom”. [2], 81 leaves. 30 cm. Fair-poor condition, severe moth damage. * Leaves include manuscript (consisting of 4 pages) of letter of Divrei Torah (missing beginning and end), which was sent by one of rabbis, to author of “Devar Avraham”, Av Beit Din of Kaunas. In the letter he discusses the known Chiddush of the Devar Avraham regarding postponed circumcision, and he notes: “… This has occurred in my city a number of times, and I command to perform the circumcision on time – and so is customary by the circumcisers here”. In the same letter he mentions his custom of “selling of Chametz”, [name of author unknown, however it is stated that he served in the rabbinate of a large and prominent city]. [4] pages, 20.5 cm. Very good condition.
