Lot of 3 sixth plate postmortem daguerreotypes. A horizontal format image, under mat and glass only, presents a baby clad in a white dress laid out on a chair or couch. Light tinting to cheeks, with hand-colored red and white flowers attached at bodice. Resealed by consignor July 2015. Lot also includes a portrait of a slightly older girl positioned upright in a chair. She wears scalloped bloomers and plaid, off the shoulder dress trimmed with bows. Her moth is slightly open, exposing some of her teeth, and her right hand rests on the arm of the chair. Housed in geometric/scroll thermoplastic case with paper label for Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Handwritten pencil inscription printed vertically behind image: "JA Brown." Fine dots throughout surface of glass, original seal. Final plate housed in thermoplastic Seated Liberty with Shield case (K-106) with Littlefield, Parsons & Co. printed label, original seal. A young girl is presented in a pleated white blouse and dark skirt or blanket, with her hair parted down the center and hands folded somewhat awkwardly across her abdomen. Her lips do not meet fully, making her teeth visible, and her cheeks are lightly tinted. Provenance:Charles A. and Frances Swedlund Collection of Early Photography
