POUND, EZRA A Draft of the Cantos 17-27 . London: John Rodker, 1928. From an edition of 101 copies, this is one of four copies printed on Roman vellum (copy D), signed (as called for) on the colophon by Ezra Pound and Gladys Hynes the illustrator. In a later binding done in 1980 for Omar Shakespear Pound of plain cream vellum, slipcased. 15 x 9 1/2 inches (38 x 25 cm); 30 ff. including blanks, paginated 56 pp., printed at the Curwen Press. The covers with a tendency to bow, overall a fine example; Together with a collection of proof sheets in a separate envelope, including two vellum bifolia (one the half-title-title spread, and six bifolia from the Japan vellum edition. The pure vellum copies are of great beauty (Pound was fortunate in his printers on this edition) and are of extreme rarity.
