(Presidents of the United States)Autographs of the Presidents of the United States, a finely bound collection from George Washington to Dwight Eisenhower 4to album (298 x 230 mm) containing 34 presidential signatures, from George Washington through Dwight D. Eisenhower, the first 32 tipped to leaves of heavy matting paper opposite an engraved portrait of the appropriate president; manuscript title leaf, with the autographs of Truman and Eisenhower loosely inserted. Full red morocco by Rivière and Son, upper cover bears a large presidential seal with gilt eagle and white and blue morocco onlay, lower cover with the arms and motto of George Washington, accomplished in a similar style above a gilt facsimile of George Washington's signature, centerpieces within gilt rules and star cornerpieces, spine lettered and ruled in gilt in compartments; blue morocco doublures bearing the gilt-facsimile signatures of presidents, gilt turn-ins, blue silk endpapers, all edges gilt; spine ever so slightly darkened, upper hinge just started along tail-piece. Cloth chemise and morocco backed slipcase. A lavishly bound collection of presidential autographs from George Washington to Dwight Eisenhower.
