printer) [An almost complete collection of books issued by the press], comprising 64 titles of the 66 printed up to 2001 and 5 other more recent titles (lacking only the unique or very rare nos.13 & 28: Lessing J.Rosenwald's Alverthorpe Guest Book, 1972, one copy only & Fine Printing, Publishing and Bookselling in the USA, 1980, eight copies only), all limited editions, some items inscribed by the author or Henry Morris to Mel Kavin, plates and illustrations, some tipped in, many with prospectus loosely inserted, original bindings, many uncut, many with slip-cases, 1958-2005; with an additional specially-bound copy of Henk Voorn's Old Ream Wrappers, inscribed by the Henry Morris to Mel Kavin and bound in full morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, 1969 and a good collection of books printed by the press for other clients (lacking nos.14, 16, 18, 19, 26, 27, 31, 32, 38, 39, 40 & 42 of the 45 titles up to 2001) and several ephemeral items, paste-paper sample books, San Serriffe share certificate etc. plus a file of correspondence between Henry Morris and Mel Kavin, prospectuses, receipts etc., v.s., Philadelphia, North Hills or Newtown, Pa., Bird & Bull Press (sm.qty) *** Including the first work printed by Henry Morris ('A Collection of Receipts in Cookery, Physick and Surgery', number 16 of 100 copies, original wrappers, Philadelphia, 1958); 'Broadside Vignettes', 2 vol., folio & 4to, 1997-99; the work on Bartholomaeus Anglicus's De Proprietatibus Rerum containing an original leaf printed by Wynkyn de Worde with a fine full-page woodcut, 1992; and the 3 bibliographies of the press, each with folder of additional material.
