Manuscript on vellum, in Latin, 155 leaves including initial and final blanks, 15 lines, written in brown ink in a slightly slanting bastard liturgical hand, and dated 1535 at the end of the text, headings in red, single-line initials in red and blue throughout, large decorative initials in brown with penwork extensions and a few grotesque human heads, ruled in red throughout, approximately 140 pages of music on four-line staves, wide margins with pinholes at edges, blanks filled with manuscript inscriptions and some additional music, ownership inscription (1886) and bookplate (1909) of Athelstan Riley, of le Manoir de la Trinité, Jersey, contemporary panelled calf over wooden boards, borders stamped in blind with repeated small floral tools, centrepieces (originally gilt) both repaired with loss, rebacked, nails and fittings for missing clasps and catches, g.e., 140 x 105mm., [France], 1535
