William Middendorf IIPaul Revere1735 - 1818The Bloody Massacre perpetrated in King Street Boston on March 5th 1770 by a party of the 29th Reg't (Brigham Plate 14) Hand-colored engraving, 1770, the hands on the clock at upper left reading 10:20 (Brigham cites a variant with the time at 8:00), on laid paper watermarked with a crowned fleur-de-lis and 'LVC', framedsheet approx. 280 by 245 mm 11 by 9 5/8 inframed: 380 by 335 mm 15 by 13 1/8 inCondition reportThe sheet with one vertical and three horizontal folds, and some creases, small tears and losses, primarily at the sheet edges, most repaired with laid paper or Japan. Two tears at the upper and right sheet edges, the longer measuring 2 1/2 inches in the dormers of the Butcher's Hall. Discoloration and faint surface soiling throughout, most obvious at upper right.
