The author was a captain in the Caucasus Grenadiers, and the photographs depict the hunters and their game, horses, hounds, bearers, beaters, camps, trophies, and lavish hunting parlors. Grand Dukes Nicholas and Sergei and their brother George were murdered by the Bolsheviks during the Russian revolution.
