PUCCINI, Giacomo (1858-1924). Portrait photograph signed and inscribed al carissimo amico Bruno Cittadini [....] Giacomo Puccini, B[uenos] Ayres, 18.7.[1]1905 , showing the composer full-face, three quarter length, inscribed in black ink across the upper half, 180 x 95mm., black and white, by Adolfo Armini, Milan (the inscription fading from acidity of ink affecting the surface of the print), mounted on card (shaved at foot, traces of paste at upper edge and on verso ). Puccini was invited to Buenos Ayres for performances of five of his operas, one of which he conducted himself, in 1905.
