(Lacking leaves 6/4 and 6/5, title and last leaf detached, these soiled, worn and torn with some loss but not affecting the text, marginal dampstain, some soiling, spotting and tears, leaf 10/1 torn with loss to a few letters.) Contemporary red half-morocco, spine gilt, edges sprinkled red (text block detached, joints starting, some wear). Provenance : M.I. Utkin (wax-stamps) -- V.M. Utkin (inscription and signatures, one dated 1879, the other 1887, some marginalia) -- an inscription on the fore-edge. FIRST BOOK-FORM EDITION OF PUSHKIN'S BEST-KNOWN WORK.
