Sutherland, R. Reeve, W.J. Bennett, D. Havell and J. Baily after C. Wild, J. Stephanoff, R. Cattermole, W. Westall and G. Samuel. (Scant spotting, plate 28 with a small marginal tear with loss.) Modern red morocco, pages untrimmed and a few unopened; slipcase. FIRST EDITION, with pre-publication watermarks. This most ambitious aquatint book illustrates the royal palaces and houses in great detail. Volume I is a valuable record of the state rooms of Windsor Castle and the domestic scenes of Frogmore; Volume II is devoted to the state rooms of Hampton Court, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Place; Volume III illustrates St. James's Palace and Carlton House.
