QUR'AN India, AH 1088/1677 AD Arabic manuscript on gold-sprinkled paper, 14ll. black naskh, occasional phrases in gold, gold roundels between verses, green, orange and gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, divisions of text marked marginally, sura headings in white on gold cartouches in illuminated panels, outer gold ruled margin, opening two bifolios illuminated, final folio signed by Ibn Marhum al-Mabrur Mirza Asfi al-Shirazi, Mir 'Abd al-Karim al-Hasani al-Husaini and dated 13 Shawwal AH 1088 , later maroon morocco binding with gold decoration, in two cloth wrappers - 24.5 x 16.2cm.; another , 15ll., red circles between verses, marginal notes, sura headings in red, later maroon morocco binding, cream cloth wrapper - 23.5 x 17cm.; another , 15ll., upper, middle and lower line in red, sura headings in red, brown morocco binding, red cloth wrapper - 18 x 11cm.; and Illustrated Diwan of Hafiz , 14ll. black nasta'liq, gold margins and divisions, illuminated opening bifolio, two further illuminated headings in text, copious illustrations, later red morocco binding, two green cloth wrappers, Kashmir or North India, 18th/19th century - 19.8 x 14cm.
