MARK OF GEORGE ADAMS, LONDON, 1859
RAILWAY INTEREST:- A VICTORIAN PRESENTATION SILVER SPADE, MARK OF GEORGE ADAMS, LONDON, 1859, Engraved with a border of scrollwork on a linear ground around a reserve inscribed "Hereford, Hay and Brecon Railway. First sod cut by Lady Tredegar, at Brecon. April 10th. 1860" , the wooden shaft terminating in a carved baronial coronet with silver mounts and applied on either side with a cut-out silver monogram, "RT" , 33 in. long (84 cm.).
