Sepia toned D. F. Barry photograph of Rain In The Face. Image is likely 10" X 13". Overall measurement is 18-1/2" X 21-1/2". The reverse has an original D.F. Barry label and a paper from the Barry studio with the story of Chief Rain In The Face. The image and the mat are both blind stamped "Barry". The image has two additional Barry markings. The frame has a metal tag with the title "Rain In The Face". Chief Rain In The Face joined Sitting Bull at The Battle Of Little Big Horn. After Custer's defeat, Chief Rain In The Face was alleged to have cut the heart out of Thomas Custer. Chief Rain In The Face fled to Canada and subsequently returned to the Dakota's in 1880 where Barry and Rain In The Face formed a friendship. CONDITION: Very good. On the right and left margin of the photo there are two areas where the surface of the photo is crackled, though the photo does not appear to have ever been out of the frame.
