Rare Sample Book of French Fashion Doll Clothes and Accessories, c. 1870, composed of seven pages of heavy pink paper to which are secured by twine twenty-one items, included are a white organdy, embroidered, lace and blue silk ribbon-trimmed trained peignoir with front panel decoration and pin pleat flounces; trained and full-backed top petticoat with embroidered insertion and flounce; under petticoat with crochet trim; slightly trained over-petticoat with tucks, featherstitching, embroidered insertion, knife pleats and lace edging; pair of knee high cream cotton knitted stocking with knitted lace instep and header; two collared combing jackets with Valenciennes lace trim, one with embroidered insertions and tucks, the other with pleats and both with blue silk ribbon trim at cuffs of long sleeves; one under petticoat with lace at hem; one nightgown with tucks and scalloped edge embroidery; two collared nightgowns, one with embroidered and tucked bib and sleeves with Valenciennes edging, the other with pleating and blue ribbon cuffs; V-neck combing jacket with embroidered insertions and blue silk ribbon at cuffs; hand towel of white linen with red embroidery; two pairs of drawers with fitted waist with embroidery and tucking, one with Valenciennes lace edging; white cotton hair net with blue silk ribbon tie; and a fine white cotton embroidered (Bonne Nuit) and Valenciennes lace edged lingerie envelope lined with deep pink silk taffeta; under petticoat with embroidered edging; two embroidered flannel petticoats; chemise with edging of crochet threaded with blue silk ribbon; scaled for an 18-inch doll with an 8-inch waist, (some minor soiling, seven items appear to be missing).
