rare, single examples of separate compositions for varying numbers of 8 different letters, comprising 3 letter A's, 1 C, 1 D, 5 I's, and 1 each of K, S, T and W, 14 wood-engraving, three printed in brown and one in orange, each printed either on Japan tissue or thin wove, v.s., 50 x 45mm. et infra, all loosely inserted in a small paper folder, this inscribed by the artist on the outside, in brown ink, St Georges Gall, 1924, and on the inside by the artist's son, Teddy Craig, in pencil, All very RARE, c.1908-1915. *** All but one letter I first appeared in The Mask between 1908 and 1915, the last being the letter D, published under Craig's pseudonym of Stanislas Lodochowskowski. Provenance: ex-private collection of Edward Gordon Craig thence by descent until acquired by the present owner.
