Recipe book kept by Juliana Newdigate, comprising mainly culinary recipes, interspersed with occasional medical or household ones, beginning (to give a sample) with "To make Sweetmeat Ginger-bread", "To make little Plum Cakes" (noted in another hand as "Good"), "To make Cheescakes", "To make Snush for a Stuffing in ye Head", "To make black Puddings", "To make Marrow Puddings", "To make Mackroons", and continued in a variety of (presumably) family hands until the late 18th or early 19th century; bearing the ownership inscription "Juliana Newdigate/ 1703/ now Glegg 1710, over 250 pages, damp-stained, with some discoloration and weakness to the paper especially at the edges but generally in sound condition, repairs, twentieth century half morocco, folio, begun 1703
