REYCEND, F., & Co. (publishers). Raccolta di dodici principali vedute di Torino. Turin: F. Reycend, [ca 1799-1806]. 3 original parts, oblong 2° (470 x 330mm.) Without text. Aquatint title and 11 plates by A.J.Moutier, A.Chenavard and others after A.Biasoli, Carolina Losé and others, all printed in bistre and captioned in Italian and French. (Title with neatly repaired tear affecting image, plate of the Piazza Carignano torn and repaired at left margin just affecting plate area.) Loose as issued in paper wrappers, with letterpress title labels pasted on upper covers. A rare series of views of Turin, the set issued after 29 September 1799, the date the dedicatee, marchese Carlo Francesco Thaon, conte di Revel, was awarded the Supreme Order of Saint Annunziata, and before his death in 1807. The views are of the Piazza Susina, Piazza Carlina, Piazza S.Carlo, Piazza Castello, Piazza Carignano, Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza S.Giovanni, the entrances to the city via the Porta di Pò, the Porta Nuova, the Porta Sisina and the Porta d'Italia, and on the title the Nouovo Ponte and the Chisesa dette del Monte. Friedrich LOSE (illustrator). Viaggio pittorico e storico al Monte Spluga. Milan: Franceso Bernucca, [ca 1820]. Oblong 4° (236 x 340mm). Engraved title, 15 hand-coloured aquatint plates only by Lose (Lacking the view of Suffer, two plates without accompanying leaf of text, a third leaf loosely inserted, occasional light spotting). Modern morocco-backed boards. Rare, but imperfect. The lot sold not subject to return. (2)
