Expressas, quae Extant in Aedibus Joseph Smith, et Antonii Mariae Zanetti, D.A.F. Qui eas del. incid. et in lucem edit D.D.D. Venice: 1743. Oblong 2° (337 x 470mm). Etched frontispiece, and 24 numbered plates by Fossati after Ricci, signed with DAF monogram within the image and Mar. Ricci pinx. at the left corner. Contemporary mottled half sheep, spine gilt. Provenance : R.H. (crowned collector's mark at foot of title); Theoph. Frid. Iac. Künhans (armorial bookplate). A FINE UNSOPHISTICATED COPY. Among the renowned collections of Consul Smith, which were purchased by George III, were 34 paintings by Marco Ricci and several albums of Ricci's caricatures and landscape drawings. The present series testifies to the connoiseurship of Smith and his friend Zanetti, and to the varied styles and techniques of Ricci's work. Cicognara 2094 ('esseguiti con gusto'); cf.
