He married twice and had ten children; two from the first marriage and eight from the second marriage. Robert Walpole was "His Majesty's Minister Plenipotentiary to the Most Christian King" [Louis XV] from August 1768 to November 1770. The Earl of Rochford (1717-1781) was Secretary of State (1768-1775).
