Rolex. A rare 18K rose gold manual wind square chronograph wristwatch Model: Antimagnetic Reference: 3529 Date: Circa 1930 Movement: Jewelled manual wind, column wheel chronograph Dial: Salmon pink, black painted Roman numeral hour markers, black inner 1/5th second divisions with Arabic numeral five minute markers, inner blue spiral scale, subsidiary dials at 3 and 9 for constant seconds and 30 minute recording, blued steel pointed baton hands, centre chronograph hand Case: Brushed and polished square, snap on back, twin rectangular chronograph buttons, No.53459 Strap/Bracelet: Black alligator leather Buckle/Clasp: Signed gold plated buckle Signed: Case, dial & movement Size: 26mm Fußnoten Rolex produced a very limited series of this model, Ref.3529, from 1939 until 1942. At the time of its production, the Rolex Ref.3529 was lauded for being the smallest chronograph available on the market. The square shape of the case, much like the popular rectangular shaped Rolex Prince of the time stands as testimony that angular case designs were often favoured during this era. Today, only few examples remain of this particular early chronograph. The combination of the salmon dial with the rose gold case is not only attractive, but adds further to the rarity and desirability of this lot.
