An extremely fine, rare and attractive 18K gold wristwatch with cloisonné enamel "chimera" dial Signed Rolex, Champs Elysée model, ref. 8651, case nos. 916'420 and 437, manufactured in 1952 Cal. 17573 nickel-finished lever movement, 18 jewels, Rolex Patented Super Balance, the polychrome cloisonné enamel dial depicting a winged chimera breathing fire, surrounded by a gilt border with small beaded minute divisions, gold dauphine hands, circular case, enlarged milled bezel with baton hour markers and dot minute divisions, hidden lugs, snap on back, gold-plated Rolex buckle, case, dial and movement signed 35 mm. diam.
