I have the same matter up in connection with the protection of elk from the iniquitous folly of the people who kill these beautiful creatures for their tusks for watch charms. I have sent your letter to Dr. Hart Merriam of the Biological Survey." A fine association of Roosevelt's Rough Riding days with his lifelong passion for the wilderness and conservation.
