[ROSCOE, WILLIAM.] Proof Impressions of Engravings, Designed to Illustrate Mr. Roscoe's Catalogue of the Manuscript Library at Holkham. "Not Published." 1835. Folio (340 x 235 mm). [4] pp + 39 plates, mostly mounted (14 of which are extra illustrations). Period half morocco, spine gilt-lettered, untrimmed. Few foxmarks and scuffs, very good. Provenance: Dawson Turner (presentation inscription and census). DAWSON TURNER'S COPY, ONE OF ONLY FIVE COMPILED. The front flyleaf has been annotated [by T.W. Coke?] to the effect that there are only five copies in existence (2 belonging to himself, and 1 each to Hudson Gurney, Rev. William Jacobrow, and Dawson Turner). He also itemizes the 14 extra plates, which include a sepia lithograph of a drawing and manuscript by Raphael in the Holkham collection.
