ROWLANDSON, Thomas (1757-1827) & George WOODWARD (?1760-1809) -- A privately compiled album of 85 hand-coloured etched caricatures, by or after Thomas Rowlandson James Gillray George Cruikshank Isaac Robert Cruikshank and George Woodward, most having been published by Thomas Tegg of No. 111 Cheapside, London, between 1807 and 1819. Oblong 4° (400x 263mm.) (Some marginal thumb soiling, a few marginal stains, one sheet torn). Contemporary half roan and marbled boards (rubbed and a little worn).

A highly entertaining, and often bawdy, collection including titles 'A Nincompoop, or Hen Pecked Husband'; 'The English Ladies Dandy Toy'; 'Catching an Elephant'; 'A Tailors Wedding'; 'A Man of Feeling'; 'Batchelor's Fare, Bread, Cheese and Kisses'; 'A New Cock Wanted, or Work for the Plumber'; 'Progress of Gallantry, or Stolen Kisses Sweetest'; 'Rural Sports or a Pleasant Way of Making Hay'; 'The First Night of my Wedding, or Little Boney no Match for an Arch Dutchess'; 'Puss in Boots, or General Junot Taken by Suprise'; 'Rigging out a Smuggler' and 'Summer Amusement Bugg Hunting'.
