Royal Warrant Holders Association Medal , G.V.R., silver (Richard Burbidge), with silver brooch bar, extremely fine £60-80 Footnote Richard Burbidge. second son of Sir Richard Burbidge of Littleton Park, was born in 1897. He joined Harrods as Assistant Merchandise Manager in 1920 and was appointed General Manager in 1927. He took over from his elder brother Sir Woodman Burbidge on his retirement as Harrods Managing Director in 1935. Richard Burbidge retired in 1965 and died in 1966. Harrods was awarded its first warrant in 1910 (Queen Mary of Norway) and in 1913 was noted as Drapers and Furnishers to Queen Mary.
