Sherburne, 1830; Concord: John F. Brown, 1837; Concord, NH: Rufus Merrill, 1843 (2 copies), Philadelphia: Henry F. Anners, 1847; Portland: Bailey & Noyes, no date. All but the Philadelphia edition (48 pp.) consist of 16 pp. Some with woodcut illustrations. Printed (some pictorial) wrappers, various sizes 4x2½ - 4½x3¾. "In a village in Hampshire, there lived a little boy named Andrew . . ." First published about 1829, this cautionary tale regarding the perils of life at sea was apparently immensly popular. The Philadelphia edition includes "Other Tales" by Mary Elliott and a lithograph frontispiece. The two Rufus Merrill imprints have different pictorial covers. A rare assemblage of a scarce early American juvenile. Lot Amendments Condition: Stain to lower left corner of 1830 imprint, minor foxing and soiling to others, but overall very good to fine.
