SAUDI ARABIA ̶ SAUDI ARAMCO Album of photographs of the construction of the Trans-Arabian Pipeline. [c.1950s] Oblong folio (280 x 350mm.), c.235 photographs (from 55 x 81mm. to 205 x 253mm., or the reverse), mounted recto and verso, one in a sleeve, contemporary black cloth, occasional minor surface abrasions, slight wear to edges of mounts, rubbed AN IMPRESSIVE ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS DOCUMENTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRANS-ARABIAN PIPELINE. Construction of the Tapline began in 1947 and extended from Qaisumah in Saudi Arabia to Sidon in Lebanon. The photographs show road construction, an Aramco aeroplane, brick making and building work at a pump station, water-well drilling, pipe welding, a cargo convoy, and views of Ras El Misha'ab.Condition ReportCondition is described in the main body of the cataloguing, where appropriate.
