SCHATZGER, Caspar. Omnia Opera . Ingolstadt: Alexander Weissenhorn, 1543. 2° (301 x 203mm). 354 leaves (collation as Adams). Roman and italic types, gothic type for the privilege at end, printed shoulder notes. Printer's device on title, woodcut armorial and facsimile signatures of Wilhelm and Ludwig, Dukes of Bavaria. A few words made good on 199v in an early hand. (Light browning, some light spotting and occasional dampstain.) BINDING: contemporary German vellum over thin pasteboard, the cords cut around and covered with pigskin, four pairs of cloth ties (all but one gone), blank quire of 8 leaves at front and back with one leaf as pastedown (light spotting, some wear at spine). Provenance : Bonaccorso Grino (kinsman by marriage of Pillone); Odorico Pillone (edges); Sir Thomas Brooke (bookplate); Berès 156. VECELLIO FORE-EDGE PAINTING: the author in Minorite habit in profile facing right, his pupil in a red robe and cap facing forward, the two seated in front of an arcaded wall, the author's name lettered vertically and horizontally. Other edges cream marbled with brown. A fresh copy, with strong type impression and many deckle edges. Adams S-438.
