Beschreibung:

From legendary French jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger's ‘The Rope’ collection, this set of earrings features coils of twisted, eighteen karat yellow gold rope studded with ten round brilliant cut diamonds. Centered on each earring is a white mabe cultured pearl with a distinct rose overtone measuring approximately 15.5 millimeters each in diameter. Considered to be semi-spherical cultured pearls, the lustrous pearls rest within golden wire work which infuses texture and dimension. Thought of in the round, the backs of the earrings are pierced in a beautiful flower shape. In overall very good condition with the omega clips with posts in working order and minor signs of wear. Jean Schlumberger (French, 1907-1987) Jean Schlumberger was an iconic French jewelry designer among the greats of the twentieth century. Especially known for his time at Tiffany & Co., which he joined as a vice president in 1956, Schlumberger created dazzling jewelry in colorful floral, oceanic and aviary designs. He successfully amalgamated the distinctive sculptural quality from his excellent draftsmanship with the undulating movement of organic forms into imaginative wonders for leading women like Elsa Schiaparelli Jacqueline Kennedy, and Audrey Hepburn. Schlumberger set the famous Tiffany Diamond in the lavish diamond ribbon necklace for 1961 film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and the witty Bird on a Rock brooch which is on permanent display today in New York. Tiffany & Co. Founded in 1837, Tiffany & Co. is recognized as the premier American luxury brand. Charles Lewis Tiffany secured his reputation as ‘the king of diamonds’ with his purchase of the world largest yellow diamond in 1878 and with the introduction of the classic six prong diamond engagement ring in 1886. From the introduction to rare and unusual gemstones to the creation of designer jewelry by Jean Schlumberger Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso Tiffany & Co. has always maintained its position at the forefront of style and fashion.
