SCHOENBERG, Arnold (1874-1951). Autograph letter signed to Professor Georg Schünemann, n.p., n.d., black ink, 1 page, oblong 8 o card, 95 x 151mm. Schoenberg writes to the renowned musicologist and educationalist Georg Schünemann (1884-1945), asking the latter to postpone a performance by Schoenberg's neice, Inge Felix, by a week, referring to the X-ray specialist Dr Ziegler and asking Schünemann to supper, and going on that he thinks a great deal about what he has seen and would like to make Schünemann a proposal. Schünemann was from 1920 deputy director of the Berlin Hochschule für Musik and from 1932 to 1933 its director. During his time there, he made the Hochschule one of the leading institutes in Germany. He was one of the founders of modern German music education.
