Provenance : autograph letter by Francis Jenkinson of the University Library, Cambridge loosely inserted; autograph letter by Bernard Quaritch 1894 on this copy loosely inserted; Bradfer Lawrence (bookplates); acquired from Clark Stillman, 1977. FIRST EDITION of this classic work relating to orders of chivalry and the first work to contain engraved illustrations by Adriaen Schoonebeek, a pupil of Romeyn de Hooghe A SUPERBLY COLORED COPY.
